Thomas G. Laubenthal Regional Technical Consultant Terracon Consultants, Inc. Based in LaGrange, GA tom.laubenthal@terracon.com https://www.linkedin.com/in/tom-laubenthal-772857/ Mr. Laubenthal serves as a regional technical consultant for Terracon for their Southeast and Texas divisions. He has more than 42 years of industry service and is considered a nationally recognized subject matter expert within the asbestos and lead-based paint (LBP) control industries. He has provided expertise to federal and state regulatory agencies with technical expert input on regulation and policy development, peer review to agency activities, methods and published guidance documents. He has served as a Technical Expert for the NIST/NVLAP asbestos analysis laboratory accreditation program (PLM) for more than 35 years. He has published more than 60 articles primarily on asbestos issues. Since 2009 he has managed and grown the very successful LinkedIn page, The Asbestos Professionals Network, with ~18,000 registered users. The page has participants globally. Mr. Laubenthal has significant leadership roles in industry and currently serves on several industry associations boards: • He is the current national president of the Lead Environmental Hazards Association (LEHA) • He currently serves as an officer of ASTM International’s main committee D22 on air issues and is the manager of 4 asbestos standard practices and was the winner of the Moyer D. Thomas Award in 2026. • Hs is a past National President, and recipient of the Snyder Lifetime Achievement Award from The Environmental Information Association • And he serves on the Prevention Advisory Board Member of the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) He received his B.S. in Geology from Georgia State University.
